weekend blues

so.. here comes the weekend. Or does it?

When in KGP, everyday was a Sunday. Literally. So weekends came and went by and no one bothered. It was all the same. Only factor that mattered was whether it was an exam week or not. Then again, if it was an exam week, weekends did not matter! Coz you had to mug up in a few days (which was tranformed to a few hours in later part of our KGP life), what was supposed to have been studied over a few months.

Things are not very different now, in the sense that weekend does not matter yet again! Only thing is that it is the other way round. Weekdays are for going to classes and to the office and to work your butt off. Then comes the weekend, and I always have something to take care of. There may be an assignment due on Monday or Tuesday or maybe I have prepare for the next research group meeting. If nothign else is pressing so hard, you always have to go to grocery or to the laundary!

This is why I keep wondering if there is really something special that "ordinary folks" do on the weekends. Or is it just hot air? But then, I have seen so many people enthusiastic about the weekend. Guess it is just that it does not mean much to students, even if the situations are drastically different.
